The theme of the Winter Camp was
Chinese New Year. The children learned
about many things throughout the week.
One of our days was dedicated to the
“Year of the Pig.” On this day each child
brought in something from home that
was a pig. This is a picture of the
children showing their pig collection.
During the week the children had time to
play games and have fun. In the
accompanying picture the children are
playing a game called hulla-baloo. This
is a game that encourages listening skills
and recognition of colors, shapes and
objects. It also encourages the children
to cooperate, share, and take turns.
During the Spring Camp we learned
about bugs, bugs, bugs. Each day was
dedicated to a different species of bug.
The children were divided into groups to
work (which they named themselves.)
With all the excitement throughout the
down and relax a bit. They choose from
a variety of activities. Here the children
are working on a “crazy puzzle,” in
which the puzzle is different every
time. Here fun and imagination are all
rolled up into one activity!
Children were: punkies, bees,
ladybugs, stinkbugs, and butterflies.
others took several days to complete.
